Frozen Food Packaging

Frozen foods do not all feed, weigh or drop into a bag the same way. We build the line around your product, with our SVC260 continuous-motion VFFS at the center.

Typical route: weighing → VFFS bagging → inspection → case packing

What Are You Packaging?

Each frozen product has its own page, with its challenges, route and test.

Packing another frozen product, such as vegetables or dumplings? Send it to us and we test it the same way. Products that run on the same machine still each get their own test.

Common Frozen Food Packaging Challenges

Five things that decide how a frozen food line performs.

01

Stable product feeding

Frost, shape and sticking change how the product reaches the weigher.

02

Stable weighing

The weigher has to match the piece size, the target weight and the dose rate the bagger needs.

03

Controlled product drop

Drop height, timing and bounce decide how fast bags can be filled without breakage.

04

Clean sealing

Ice, crumbs or pieces in the seal turn machine speed into rejects.

05

Cleaning and access

Cleaning requirements come from your product and your plant standard.

Recommended Packaging Route

Each step is matched to the product and to the step before it.

  4. 04

    Case Packing

    Bags into cases

  6. 06

    Palletizing

    Cases onto pallets

The SVC260 bags the product; weighing, inspection, case packing and palletizing are integrated around it. Bucket conveyors are not part of the standard frozen food route. If a project needs one, we test it with the frozen product first.

SVC260 and Bag Formats

Pillow bags on the SVC260 are the first route for frozen foods.

Why the SVC260

Built for frozen foods and IQF products. Continuous motion, bags up to 260 mm wide and 400 mm long, up to 160 bags/min.*

*Machine maximum. Actual output depends on product, fill weight, bag size and film.

Define Sustainable Good Output

A frozen food line runs at the pace of its slowest stage, so we check every stage instead of quoting one machine's top speed.

Required kg/h= Good bags per hour × Fill weight

We set the final line target from product tests and agreed FAT conditions.

  1. 01

    Product feed

A steady flow of product into the weigher

  2. 02

    Weighing

    Enough sustainable doses per minute

  3. 03

    Bagging

    Enough good bags per minute

  4. 04

    Inspection

    Enough accepted packs per minute

  5. 05

    Case packing

Enough cases per minute at the bags per case you need

Test With Your Frozen Product

Send a sample or the product details. We run them before the final configuration is fixed. The test is free; you cover the shipping of your samples.

What to send

  • Product sample or details

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about frozen food packaging.

Ask an engineer

The SVC260 continuous-motion VFFS, which is built for frozen foods and IQF products.

No. Product flow, size, coating, frozen condition, target weight, bag and film can all change the setup. Each product is tested before the configuration is fixed.

160 bags/min is the SVC260's machine maximum, not a frozen food line result. Your line output is set from the product, the weighing, the bag and the film.

Pillow bags are standard on the SVC260. Side gusset bags are an option where the project needs them.

Our pendulum bucket conveyors are not yet proven with frozen products. If a project needs one, we test it with your frozen product first.

Yes. Robotic case packing and palletizing can be integrated after the bagger, around your bag, case and pallet requirements.
