Sealed tray

Tray Packaging

Plastic or paper-based trays, sealed as MAP, VSP or seal-only on our Hybrid Pro T680. Start with the real product, tray and film.

Made on: Hybrid Pro T680

Tray Is the Format. MAP, VSP and Seal-Only Are the Process.

The tray holds the product; the process decides what happens inside it.

How it is made

  1. 01

    Tray supply

    Empty trays to the machine

  2. 02

    Product loading

    Product placed in the trays

  3. 03

    Lidding film

    Film drawn over the trays

  4. 04

    Process

Gas replaced (MAP), skin formed (VSP) or simply sealed

  5. 05

    Sealing and cutting

Film sealed to the flange and cut

  6. 06

    Finished tray

    Ready for inspection and labeling

The right process depends on the food, the tray, the film and how the pack will be sold.

Packaging Modes and Machine

All three modes run on the T680.

  1. MAP

Vacuum, then gas filling with an O₂ / CO₂ / N₂ mix. Residual O₂ below 0.5%.

    Up to 20 cycles/min*
  2. VSP

Vacuum skin packaging: the top film is formed closely around the product. Checked for each product.

    Up to 12 cycles/min*
  3. Seal-Only

Lidding film sealed onto the tray without changing the atmosphere.

    Up to 25 cycles/min*

*Machine maximum. Actual output depends on product, tray, film, gas mixture and tooling.

Why the T680

Plastic and paper-based trays, MAP, VSP and seal-only on one machine. Standard tooling seals 4 trays per cycle in a 680 × 320 mm sealing area, and changes in about 15–30 minutes.

Tray materials

  • Plastic trays
  • Paper-based trays

Paper-based trays differ in board, coating, flange and rigidity, so each one is tested with its lidding film before the setup is fixed.

Define the Real Package

Send the product and the package you want. We test them before the configuration is fixed. The test is free; you cover the shipping of your samples.

What to define

  • Product

  • Tray material, size and depth

  • Flange

  • Lidding film

  • Packaging mode

  • Gas mix, if known

  • Required output

What the test checks

  • Tray feeding and positioning

  • Tray distortion

  • Sealing window

  • Peel and seal behavior

  • Vacuum and gas behavior

  • Finished-pack appearance

  • Sustainable good output

Output Depends on More Than the Tray

A tray line runs at the pace of its slowest stage, often loading or a clean seal, so we check every stage instead of quoting the sealer's top speed.

Good trays per minute= Good cycles per minute × Trays per cycle

We set the final line target from product tests and agreed FAT conditions.

Request a Packaging Test
  1. 01

    Tray supply

A steady supply of empty trays

  2. 02

    Loading

Enough filled trays per minute, with a clean flange

  3. 03

    Sealing

A stable seal cycle, with vacuum and gas for MAP

  4. 04

    Inspection

Enough accepted, labeled trays per minute

  5. 05

    Case packing

Enough cases per minute at the trays per case you need

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about this package format.

Ask an engineer

The Hybrid Pro T680. It runs MAP, VSP and seal-only on one machine.

Yes, paper-based trays are supported. Each one is tested for its coating, flange, rigidity and lidding film before the setup is fixed.

MAP replaces the air with a gas mix, VSP forms the film closely around the product, and seal-only closes the tray without changing the atmosphere.

It depends on the tray size, the tooling and the mode. Standard tooling seals 4 trays per cycle, at up to 20 (MAP), 12 (VSP) or 25 (seal-only) cycles per minute. Your output is confirmed with your tray and tooling.

About 15–30 minutes.
