Frozen Meatball Packaging

Build the packaging setup around the meatball size, the target weight, the bag and the output you need. Our SVC260 continuous-motion VFFS is built for frozen foods and IQF products.

Typical route: weighing → VFFS bagging → inspection → case packing

Frozen Meatball Packaging Challenges

Six points that decide whether a meatball line runs well.

01

Rolling

Round meatballs roll. They run fast across feed pans and chutes and gather at the edges, so the weigher gets an uneven feed.

What we do · Product spread into the weigher is checked with your meatballs during the test.

02

Few pieces per bag

Meatballs are large pieces, so one piece more or less moves the weight a lot, especially in small bags.

What we do · The weigher heads and hopper size are chosen for your meatball size and target weight.

03

Sticking and clustering

Frosted meatballs that wait or start to thaw freeze together in clusters and bridge in hoppers.

What we do · Feeding, weighing and bagging rates are matched so product does not wait on the line.

04

Bounce at the bag mouth

Hard, round pieces bounce when they land. Rebound at the bag mouth can carry product into the seal area or slow the bagging cycle.

What we do · Drop height and discharge timing are set for your meatballs and checked in the test.

05

Product in the seal

A meatball or fragment caught in the sealing jaws causes a leaking seal and a rejected bag.

What we do · Every packaging test checks seal quality and product in the seal area.

06

Choosing the inspection

Product temperature, film and what you need to detect decide the method. Metallized or foil film limits metal detection.

What we do · The inspection method is chosen once the product, package and film are known.

Recommended Packaging Route

Each step is matched to the meatballs and to the step before it.

Bucket conveyors are not part of the standard route for frozen meatballs. If a project needs one, we test it with the frozen product first.

Define Sustainable Good Output

A meatball line runs at the pace of its slowest stage, so we check every stage instead of quoting one machine's top speed.

Required kg/h= Good bags per hour × Fill weight

We set the final line target from product tests and agreed FAT conditions.

Why the SVC260

The SVC260 is built for frozen foods and IQF products, which makes it our main machine for frozen meatballs. Detailed specifications are on the machine page.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about packaging frozen meatballs.

Ask an engineer

The SVC260 is built for frozen foods and IQF products. The exact setup for your meatballs is defined from the real product, fill weight, bag and film.

Yes. Weigher configurations for meatballs are available. The model and its weighing result are confirmed with your product in the test.

Rolling and rebound affect feeding, weighing, the drop into the bag and the timing at the bag mouth, so we test with the real product.

160 bags/min is the SVC260's machine maximum. The output of a meatball line is set from the actual product, weighing, bag and line conditions.

The pillow bag, which is standard on the SVC260. Side gusset bags are an option where the project needs them.

Our pendulum bucket conveyors are not yet proven with frozen meatballs. If a project needs one, we test it with the actual frozen product first.

That depends on the final product, package, film and what you need to check. Checkweighing, metal detection, combined units or X-ray can be assessed for the project.

Yes. Robotic case packing and palletizing can be integrated around the bag, case and pallet requirements.
