Chicken Nugget Packaging

Build the packaging setup around the nuggets, the target weight, the bag and the output you need. Our SVC260 continuous-motion VFFS is built for frozen foods and IQF products.

Typical route: weighing → VFFS bagging → inspection → case packing

Chicken Nugget Packaging Challenges

Six points that decide whether a nugget line runs well.

01

Loose crumbs and fines

Breading sheds crumbs. They collect in the weigher hoppers and chutes and change how the product releases.

What we do · We check crumb buildup on the weigher with your nuggets during the test.

02

Few pieces per bag

Nuggets are large pieces, so one piece more or less moves the weight a lot, especially in small bags.

What we do · The weigher heads and hopper size are chosen for your nugget size and target weight.

03

Sticking and bridging

Frozen nuggets that wait or start to thaw stick together and bridge in hoppers and chutes, so the weigher gets an uneven feed.

What we do · Feeding, weighing and bagging rates are matched so product does not wait on the line.

04

Coating damage on the drop

Breaded coatings chip or break when nuggets fall too far into the bag. That adds fines and spoils the look of the pack.

What we do · Drop heights are set for your nuggets and confirmed in the test.

05

Crumbs in the seal

Fines carried into the seal area cause weak or leaking seals.

What we do · Every packaging test checks seal quality and product in the seal area.

06

Choosing the inspection

Product temperature, film and what you need to detect decide the method. Metallized or foil film limits metal detection.

What we do · The inspection method is chosen once the product, package and film are known.

Recommended Packaging Route

Each step is matched to the nuggets and to the step before it.

Bucket conveyors are not part of the standard route for chicken nuggets. If a project needs one, we test it with the frozen product first.

Define Sustainable Good Output

A nugget line runs at the pace of its slowest stage, so we check every stage instead of quoting one machine's top speed.

Required kg/h= Good bags per hour × Fill weight

We set the final line target from product tests and agreed FAT conditions.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask about packaging chicken nuggets.

Ask an engineer

The SVC260 is built for frozen foods and IQF products. The exact setup for your nuggets is defined from the real product, fill weight, bag and film.

Crumbs can build up in the weigher and reach the seal area. We check how your nuggets behave on the weigher and the bagger during the test.

The pillow bag, which is standard on the SVC260. Side gusset bags are an option where the project needs them.

160 bags/min is the SVC260's machine maximum. The output of a nugget line is set from the actual product, weighing, bag and line conditions.

A multihead weigher is the main route. Its configuration is chosen around the nugget size, the target weight and the rate you need.

Our pendulum bucket conveyors are not yet proven with chicken nuggets. If a project needs one, we test it with the actual frozen product first.

That depends on the final product, package, film and what you need to check. Checkweighing, metal detection, combined units or X-ray can be assessed for the project.

Yes. Robotic case packing and palletizing can be integrated around the bag, case and pallet requirements.
